Brilliant curry and service, seemed to have really improved the food in last few years, one of the best reasonably priced curries in York now
The food and ambience is here always top-notch. 1 of my most favourite go-to Indian restaurants in York as it is quite resonable in pricing as well. The quantity and quality of food is always satisfying.
Would highly suggest this place, their lamb chops are so delicious and would recommend lamb dishes as it’s cooked to perfection, the flavours are so authentic compared to other Indian restaurants around
This place is a little Gem. We were staying in a guest house just up the road, and called in as it looked nice. We hadn't booked and was lucky that they had a table for us. Not that it was a problem for us, but they don't serve alcohol. They do have a great selection of non alcoholic drinks to choose from, which more than satisfied us. You can bring your own drinks if you wish. On to the food, which was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted Amazing. The staff were lovely and helpful, even though they were run off their feet due to being so busy. If I could give more than 5 stars for the food, I most definitely would. The only thing I knocked down was that it was quite noisy ( probably just because it was busy and their was a certain party in, that was more loud than your normal groups ! ). Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely go back when we next visit York. Thank you Mirchiz for a beautiful meal - probably one of the best tasting curries we've ever had.
Quality food is served by helpful and polite staff. Five adults with different spice levels and every meal was spot on. One of our group is Celiac and we had no concerns . The staff were knowledgeable and made great menu suggestions.
Really enjoyable and looking forward to going back. Perfect walking distance for those staying at the Novotel or Travelodge. Close to the city centre. Not too close that its overly busy, but not too far that you can't walk into the centre afterwards for cocktails. We went on a Monday night and there were plenty of tables. Bring your own alcohol, no charge for glasses or bottle openers. They serve 0% beers and other soft drinks. The onion bhajis (4 in a portion) are golf ball size but full of flavour and crispiness. My partner loved the chilli chicken curry he had. He went for medium heat, but they were happy to increase the heat levels if wanted. I had the mild version of the chicken tikka and it was absolutely delicious. We had a mushroom rice and a garlic naan bread between us. Both of which were very tasty. The naan could have been cooked a little longer for me, but it didn't impact the flavour. The garlic flavouring on the naan was stronger than what we're used to from our local, but it actually tasted nicer for it. The serving staff were quick to serve and clear away but not in an intrusive way. They were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and flavours. It cost around 30 for the food, and we didn't buy drinks as we took our own. Good value for money, especially dining out in York. Would recommend it for sure.
I recently visited Mirchiz with work colleagues and I was very pleasantly surprised. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants and wasn’t expecting to be impressed the way I was. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cosy and intimate feel that made it perfect for a relaxed meal. The decor was modern and had a fresh vibe to the place. The service was outstanding and Ali and Haks were very attentive without being overbearing and made sure our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish, with many recommendations to suit each of our preferences. The food itself was fantastic, offering a rich variety of traditional Indian dishes, each bursting with flavor and clearly made with care. Overall, Mirchiz is a hidden gem with great service, a welcoming ambiance, and delicious food. I’ll definitely be returning again
After walking 20 mins in the rain and finding the restaurant we originally wanted to go to had closed their kitchen, we didn't hold much hope for this restaurant we stumbled across. However, we were most pleasantly surprised! Great service, very attentive waiter who advised us that we could take advantage of an offer as it works out to be a better deal.. He also offered to bring us an off the menu lamb dish as we were unsure on what to order. Absolutely delicious- best mains we've had at an Indian restaurant. Only took pics of the starter as we were too busy enjoying our food! Thank you!
